Founded by Tariq Salahaddin EL, Chi-Rhythm Radio was created from a lifelong passion for Chicago music and dance culture and a desire to create a platform where that culture can be heard, shared, and preserved.
Our programming brings together Chicago Steppin’ and soulful music, experienced DJs, original shows, conversations, community voices, and stories that connect generations. From the traditions that helped shape Chicago culture to the people creating its future, Chi-Rhythm Radio provides a platform for authentic voices and experiences.
Our commitment to community also extends beyond the airwaves. Through events, partnerships, educational programming, and youth initiatives such as Inside Our Melanated Legacy™, we create opportunities for people to learn, participate, share their stories, and connect with Chicago’s cultural legacy.
