Our DJs

Each of our DJs brings a unique perspective, but all are united by a shared passion for preserving and sharing Chicago’s music and dance culture. Through thoughtful curation, purposeful work, and genuine connection, they deliver shows that honor the city’s rhythms, stories, and traditions — connecting listeners to the heartbeat of Chicago’s dance floors.

DJ Slique Riq

DJ Slique Riq is a DJ, producer, and Master Stepping Instructor known for blending smooth Steppin' grooves, soulful classics, and Chicago house into unforgettable sets. As the founder of Chi-Rhythm Radio and curator of the station's popular Sunday Steppers' Matinee, he's on a mission to preserve and share the sound, rhythm, and culture of Chicago's dance floors with the world.

DJKC

DJKC began his DJ journey in 1983, inspired by Chicago's legendary house music scene, including the Hot Mix 5 on WBMX and pioneers such as Chip Mitchell and Pharris Thomas. Known for delivering smooth, sexy, and sultry sets, he has spent decades creating memorable experiences for dancers and music lovers alike.

His career highlights include serving as a resident DJ at R&B star Keith Sweat's Atlanta nightclub, The Industry, and DJing the official after-party for the Bad Boy Records Reunion Tour in Atlanta.

After returning to DJing following a hiatus, DJKC found renewed inspiration in Chicago's stepping and skating communities, blending the energy of both into his signature sound. Beginning Monday, July 6, listeners can hear him weekdays from 5 PM to 6 PM as host of The Drive @ 5 on Chi-Rhythm Radio. His philosophy is simple: "Bet on yourself" and "I do not have a Plan B."
